Hi Dragmaster Kadets!!! I want to wish you all a very Merry "Fink"mas and a Happy New Year!!!!! Thanks for diggin' my artwork throughout the year on this blog and my other blogs. Take care!!! Your Dragmaster Cartoon Drag Pals...Jeff (and Rat Fink!)
Here's a nifty shot of that Dragmaster hot rod Dode Martin and his buddy Tom Medley. Pretty boss shot, if I do say so myself! Take care gang and I'll see you on the blog soooon!
Dragmaster's co-founder, Dode Martin will be returning to competitive drag racing, at least as a car owner. The new car shown, called "The Dragmaster Trainer" was completed after 14 months and tested at Barona Drag Strip. Some of the driving was done by Dode himself! Man! At the age of 82, he obtained his NHRA competition driver's license, earlier this year. After 45 years he thought it would be interesting and fun!!! Good luck and have fun, Dode.
Hey Dragsters!!! Here's a few real boss shots of the Dragmaster "Two Thing." Built in 1959 by Dragmaster's Dode Martin and Jim Nelson, the "Two Thing" was powered by two 354 cid Chevrolet motors, which sat side-by-side. It set a top speed at the 1960 NHRA Nationals of a little over 171 mph!!! Impressive. Thank you John Lindstrom for the bottom photos.
Hey Dragmaster Kids!!! Yours truly with my 1962 Dragmaster Dart. This was about a year ago at Hotweyer Performance, here in Santa Clarita, California. I always dig black and white photos. More pictures to come soon!!
Mickey Thompsonin my opinion was one of the hardest working people indrag racing. A champion in the truest sense of the word. Mickey Thompson's Dragmaster with Mark IV chassis in 1961. Thompson loved his Pontiacs. More Mickey Thompson Dragmaster shots. These were also 1961. Photos by Pete Garramone.
I've always liked cartoons, animation, hot rods and drag racing. Ed "Big Daddy" Roth was my first great inspiration to draw. Other inspirations were Charles Shultz, Chuck Jones (who mentored me and started me in the animation business), Jack Davis of Mad Magazine fame, M.C. Escher and Tex Avery. I've been working in the animation business for 20 years and currently at Nickelodeon Animation producing Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go! and Ni hao Kai-lan. Prior to Nickelodeon. Also while at Nickelodeon, I created and produced The Finster Finster Show! short for Frederator. Earlier in my animation career I worked at Chuck Jones Productions, Spumco, Warner Bros. Walt Disney Studios, Universal, DreamWorks, FOX Kids Network, and Carsey Werner NBC. I'm married with three cartoon kids and originally from NJ. I also like TV shows of the 50's and 60's and love watching cartoons especially early MGM and Warner Bros cartoons. I've been also honored by becoming an official Ed "Big Daddy" Roth artist and is the official Ed "Big Daddy" Roth artist of the year for 2008!!!! As of 2006, I became a member of The Standard 1320 nostalgic drag racing group.
